Today the team met in Glennan Sears circuit lab to continue work on our project. Alex and Eric collected data through the Samsung Simband which involved the running trials for the Simband (pictured). With that trial, we are now are finished with the preliminary test trials, and now the next step will be getting the data off of the website. Unfortunately, at the time SAMI hasn’t been able to send the data to Matlab at the time. As a result, Alex set up a meeting with Farhad on October 5th, in order to see what the source of the problem is, and what are alternate ways that we can use to obtain the data from the Simband.

Karly worked on creating a team website. The team website will allow us to keep track of our project progress by using a calendar, scrum board. and blog. This will also allow us to share our progess with our advisors. Created and designed the blog, project schedule, and team bios for the website. In the upcoming meeting, she plans to have the arduino software installed so that she can model the hip conector hardware components and test the design virtually.
During this meeting, Roy figured out specific action items for realizing Bluetooth capabilites for our prototype. He discovered that we need to purchse a BLE module and connection. He found the Android SDK which fulfills these requirements and will allow the hip pedometer to interface with bluetooth device and SAMI. For the next meeting, he plans to meet with Farhad to determine the best way to bluetooth connect our device to the Simband.
